Low Income Investment Fund
Campaign for Early Care & Education
Nearly half of American families live in child care deserts, struggling to find and afford quality early education.
Meanwhile, child care small businesses operate on razor sharp margins without access to mainstream investment opportunities.
For 25 years, the Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF) has played a leading role in bridging this gap—securing and deploying capital to create or preserve more than 400,000 child care slots nationwide.
The Challenge:
To communicate the urgency and impact of a new fundraising campaign for child care and build interest among major institutional funders.
Strategy & Execution:
To help LIIF attract philanthropic investments, I developed a narrative pitch deck that serves as both a full presentation and a modular toolkit for individual outreach.
This process prioritized:
Research & Insight Gathering: I worked closely with LIIF’s team to understand their strategic priorities, analyze research on the impact of quality child care, and identify the most persuasive framing for funders.
Narrative Strategy & Messaging: Through data and storytelling, we illustrated how LIIF’s investment and advocacy are transforming early childhood education financing—moving beyond traditional funding models to systemic change.
Impact & Immediacy: The pitch deck was branded as a time-sensitive campaign, centering concrete impact data and real-world child care stories.
Modular Design: The final product was designed to be shared as a full narrative report (PDF) or broken into component pieces for presentations (PPT).

Impact:
LIIF has already begun using the case making tool and talking points in conversations with major philanthropic funders, generating early interest and engagement.
Ultimately, the organization expects these investments will supercharge LIIF’s policy advocacy work, unlocking $500 million in public funding and helping to grow the supply of child care across eight new states.
